“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
Our Junior High Ministry seeks to prepare its students not only for active application, but personal relation to God’s word as they are introduced to verse by verse teachings through God’s word.
We meet in the Children’s Building at 9:30am Sunday Mornings. The Children’s Building is located directly across from the Worship center. The Student Ministry has its own classroom able to accommodate all age groups between 6th and 8th grade.
Graduation from the Children’s Ministry is during May. The focus of the Jr. High and High School Services are to establish a safe environment for students to learn the Bible.
We teach in four main categories in order to equip the students for the world that will regularly and proactively challenge what they have learned from their families and Sunday School.
1. Pastor Sean will teach through a regular series of sermons and topics regarding apologetics in order to properly equip your children to give an answer to those who ask them a Reason for the Hope that is within them. This will include Textual History of the Bible, the doctrine of the Trinity, how to study the Bible, and even going through popular objections to Christianity itself.
2. Tom and Eileen will teach verse by verse through the Bible in order to familiarize your children with scripture with the mature and rounded mindset that will be expected of them in the adult services.
3. We will have regular guest speakers every month to address topics that they will need working knowledge of as adults like; how to handle budgeting and finances, how to prepare for job interviews, how to properly maintain a motor vehicle, sexual morality through our Running Light Ministries teachers, and more.
4. The entire staff will be regularly hosting times for fellowship with the students through sports events, movie nights, and outreach opportunities.
Whether they are being introduced to God’s word for the first time or continuing to be established in the fear of the Lord, we make our Student Ministry as much an introduction as it is preparation for adulthood in the Christian life as we train them to hear their shepherd’s voice.
If you have any questions concerning this or the ministry as a whole, please don’t hesitate to speak to our teachers.
Our Mission is to see the Jr. High students grow in the knowledge and understanding of God’s plan for their lives; and to encourage them to apply the things that they learn in all areas of their lives.
